The seat that makes your kitchen the best room in the house.
Four decades spent shaping the seats people gravitate towards in their favourite restaurants. Now we bring that same instinct home — to the kitchen where you actually live.
Building the seats people never want to leave — in restaurants, hotels, and now, at home.

Our story
We've spent 40 years designing seats people never want to leave. Now we make them for your home.
You know that feeling in a great restaurant where the seat just holds you, the light is right, and leaving feels like an effort? That is what we have been building for four decades. HomeBooth brings the same instinct into your kitchen, your dining room, the corner by the window where life actually happens.
We come to your home, sit where you sit, and understand the room before we draw a single line. The process is calm, the craft is serious, and the result is a seat that changes how you use the room.
What we make
Every room has a corner waiting to become everyone's favourite seat.
Every piece is made to measure, shaped by how you actually live in the room — not just how it looks on a plan.
01
Kitchen banquettes
That corner you have never known what to do with? It becomes the seat everyone fights for at dinner.
02
Breakfast nooks
Sunday papers, weekday porridge, homework hour. A small seat that holds a whole life.
03
Dining booths
The kind of seat that makes people stay longer, talk more, and pour another glass.
04
Hall and window benches
A pause in the hallway. A reading spot by the window. Small moments that change how a home feels.
How it happens
From first conversation to the moment you sit down.
No guesswork, no blind decisions. Every choice is made with the room in front of you.
Step 01
We visit
We come to your home, walk the room together, and understand how the space is really used — not just how it measures.
Step 02
We measure and sample
Exact measurements on site, fabrics and finish samples in your actual light, and the first real conversation about what feels right.
Step 03
We draw
A full 3D drawing of the piece in your room — refined together until it feels exactly right before anything is built.
Step 04
We make and install
Built to spec, fitted in your home. You sit down, and the room finally feels complete.

Fabrics, finishes, and feel
Comfort first, then the finish that makes it belong.
You will feel the fabrics in your own room, in your own light, before choosing. Because a swatch on a screen is nothing like velvet under your hand at the breakfast table.
We work with the names people trust in the interiors world, then narrow it to what feels right for your room, your routines, and the life your furniture actually has to hold.
Pattern-led upholstery
For projects that want statement fabric without losing the calm of the room.
Tactile texture
Velvets, woven textures, and raised surfaces that add depth when the palette stays quieter.
Heritage florals
Classic decorative fabrics that give built-in seating a more furnished, layered feel.
It is not about making a statement. It is about sitting down in your own kitchen and realising the room finally works — the circulation, the warmth, the way people pull in closer instead of spreading apart.
The references may come from restaurants, hotels, and members' clubs, but the result is domestic, calm, and genuinely lived with.
Frequently asked questions
Everything you are wondering.
Do you only work in Edinburgh?
Edinburgh is home base, but we take on projects across Central Scotland. If you are not sure whether your area is covered, just ask — we will let you know.
What happens at the first visit?
We look at the room, talk through how you use the space, take measurements, and review fabrics and finish ideas together so the design starts from real context rather than guesswork.
Is the £200 deposit an extra fee?
No. The deposit starts the design process and is deducted from the final bill if the project proceeds.
Do I see the design before production begins?
Yes. A 3D drawing is produced for final sign-off so proportions and details are resolved before anything goes into manufacture.
Can you help if I do not know what fabric or finish to choose?
That is a normal place to start. The consultation is built to help homeowners narrow down direction, compare samples, and feel confident in the final specification.
How durable is the seating for everyday family use?
Every piece is built to the same structural standards we use for hospitality projects — seating that handles hundreds of covers a week. At home, that translates to a piece that stays tight, comfortable, and looking right for years of daily use.
Can I make changes to the design once it has been drawn?
Yes. The 3D drawing stage exists for exactly that reason. Adjustments to dimensions, shape, or fabric are made before sign-off so nothing goes into production until you are fully happy with the proposal.
What do projects typically cost?
Most residential projects fall between £3,000 and £10,000 depending on the length of seating, complexity of the layout, and the fabrics chosen. A clearer estimate is given after the first visit when we have seen the room and discussed the brief.
Is there a guarantee on the finished piece?
Yes. All structural work and upholstery is guaranteed for defects in craftsmanship. If something is not right, we return to put it right. The specifics are confirmed in writing at sign-off.
How much does bespoke booth seating cost in the UK?
Most bespoke booth seating projects for UK homes fall between £3,000 and £10,000, depending on size, layout complexity, and fabric choice. A compact kitchen booth typically starts from £3,000–£4,500. Larger dining booths or full banquette runs come in at £5,000–£10,000+. A precise quote is given after the home visit once we have measured the room and agreed the specification. The £200 initial deposit is fully deducted from the final bill.
How much does custom banquette seating cost in the UK?
Custom banquette seating for UK homes typically costs between £3,000 and £10,000 depending on the length of the run, layout complexity, and fabric specification. Unlike off-the-shelf furniture, bespoke made-to-measure banquettes are built to exact dimensions and covered in the fabric you choose. A detailed quote is provided after the home visit.
What are the standard dimensions for booth and banquette seating in a home?
For a comfortable home dining booth, the seat depth is typically 45–50cm, seat height 45–47cm from the floor, and backrest height 80–100cm overall. Standard banquette seating depth runs from 55–65cm for perimeter seating with back cushions. Table height is usually 72–76cm with at least 30cm knee clearance below. At HomeBooth, all dimensions are measured on site and drawn to fit your specific room — there is no off-the-shelf sizing.
How long does a bespoke booth or banquette seating project take?
From initial enquiry to installation, most projects take 8–12 weeks. This covers the home visit, design development, 3D sign-off, fabric and material ordering, production, and installation. Projects with specialist fabrics or complex configurations may take a little longer. Timeline is confirmed in writing at sign-off.
Do you build breakfast nooks for Edinburgh and Central Scotland homes?
Yes. Bespoke breakfast nooks are one of the most popular projects we take on across Edinburgh and Central Scotland. A built-in breakfast nook combines upholstered bench seating with a fixed or freestanding table, designed around your room, your family size, and the way you actually use the space.
Can you make bespoke window seats in Edinburgh and Scotland?
Yes. We design and build bespoke window seats across Edinburgh and Central Scotland — as standalone projects or alongside kitchen and dining seating. Every window seat is built to your exact bay or alcove dimensions and fully upholstered in the fabric of your choice.
